EUROCEMENT group opens the river navigation season. The first barges with more than 18 thousand tons of cement have set off over the Volga to Yaroslavl, Togliatti and Nizhny Novgorod.

"Product delivery by river transport is one of the most cost-effective methods of transportation: deliveries are made at minimum cost and in a short time. EUROCEMENT group Holding's state-of-the-art transport and logistic complexes enable loading both bulk cement and tare products onto water transport. High-quality loading and secure packaging guarantee maximum safety of cargoes to consumers", said Alexander Sapronov, Senior Vice-President of EUROCEMENT group.

Delivery by water transport allows to transport large batches of products without limitation by types: bulk loading, baked cement in bags packed in pallets, and in soft containers of 14 tons.

The holding annually reports an increase in demand for cement supplies by water. In 2020, the company plans to increase supplies by water to more than 300 thousand tons (2.5-fold compared to the previous year). To achieve these goals, EUROCEMENT group improves transportation efficiency, increases shipment productivity, reduces logistics costs and expands the geography of delivery.

For example, in 2019 we implemented projects for combined shipment of palletized cement and products in soft containers in one barge, shipment of tare cement, completed on the barge in pallets in two tiers. The efficiency of logistics is controlled by a single transport division of the Holding, EUROCEMENT Transport Solutions. The time of vessels entering the port is strictly controlled to eliminate demurrage and queues. Each vessel is prepared and equipped for transportation of cement, thus construction material does not lose its valuable properties during transportation.

The geography of EUROCEMENT group deliveries by water covers the Volga, Central and North-Western Federal Districts.
